Ever get that feeling someone is watching you?

This frog’s on the bathroom window, but it’s more interested in the insects attracted to the light from it at night. I need to clean that window, but as a favor to my froggy friends, I leave a light on for them so they can more easily hunt moths and other prey. This Green Tree Frog  must be enjoying the accomodations, as it has occupied my bathroom window for months now.

There used to be a pair of Cuban Tree Frogs which held the spot on the window for a couple years, but they are now gone.

I kind of miss the Cuban couple, they were hilariously noisy subjects to view from my throne room, competing with one another to be the first to jump on every arriving moth or June bug. Usually the invasive frog species wins because they can get large enough to actually eat the much smaller native Green Tree Frogs, but not in this case. Greens are quite abundant here, and the two species seem to have different habitat preferences, with the exception of the window. It may be the noisy pair moved to waterfront property, the back patio, split up and headed out, or perhaps they met an untimely end. Nature is beautiful but not forgiving, and there are many predators about.
