Blazing Star

A native perennial wildflower of the Eastern United States, and now a garden favorite whose corms are available through mail order flower and bulb companies, Blazing Star (Liatris spicata) is depicted against a sizzling sunset; at the bottom is a Buckeye Butterfly (Junonia coenia) known for the large eyespots on its wings.
